Stop soot buildup and protect your engine’s hottest cylinders. The Dirty EGR Upgrade Kit for the 2009–2024 6.7L Cummins is engineered to do more than just clean up your engine bay, it actively improves engine longevity by re-routing coolant to the back of the head. By circulating coolant between cylinders 5 and 6, this kit addresses the notorious hot spots at the rear of the block where traditional systems fall short.
This isn't a generic offshore kit; we use quality 6061 aluminum and T304 stainless steel with mill-traceable certifications. We’ve redesigned the stand-pipe bracket to mount directly to the engine, eliminating the need to wrestle with exhaust studs. From the CNC-machined intake blocker to the upgraded silicone re-route hose, every component is built in-house to ensure it fits, seals, and handles the heat of a hard-working Cummins.

What will happen if I don’t get a tune after I install this and the throttle delete??
If you install the EGR/Cooler Delete and throttle valve delete without a tune, here’s what happens:
Check Engine Light (CEL) & Codes – The ECM will instantly detect the missing EGR and throttle valve. You’ll throw codes like P0401, P0402, P2141, P0488 etc. The CEL will stay on.
Limp Mode / Derate – Depending on the year, the truck may go into limp mode. On the newer 2019+ Cummins, derates are more aggressive — reduced power, limited RPM, and speed restrictions until the ECM sees those systems “fixed.”
Poor Drivability – The ECM still tries to command EGR flow and throttle closure. With no hardware there, the truck will surge, idle rough, and drive inconsistently.
Regen & Soot Issues – Since the tune isn’t disabling EGR logic, the truck will still schedule regens. Without proper airflow readings, regen cycles won’t complete correctly and can plug your DPF if it’s still installed.
Cooling Concerns – The kit itself reroutes coolant to keep cylinders 5 & 6 cooler, but without tuning, you’re just left with a mechanically bypassed EGR system that the ECM doesn’t know how to manage.

I have a DPF delete in my 2010 already. Running a efi live multi tune. would like to delete the egr now. Will I have to re-tune the truck?
Yes, you will need to update your tune after deleting the EGR on your 2010 Cummins. Since you're already running an EFI Live multi-tune with a DPF delete, your current tune may not account for the EGR delete, which could lead to issues such as check engine lights, improper fueling, or drivability concerns.
?
How do I make this work on my '24 3500? I'm having difficulty locating the remaining "upgrade" parts and tuning.
In order to install this kit you need to have custom delete tuning, but on the 22+ Cummins, you'll need to swap out the ECM first, as the new ECMs have an extra layer of security encryption on them. It's best to email us at sales@dirtydieselcustoms.com and we can walk you through it in detail!
?
Does this kit deal with the killer bolt from the grid heater that can fall into engine?
This is just an EGR/Cooler delete, it will not effect the grid heater bolt. You'd be looking for something like THIS.
?
Do you sell the tune for this. 23 ram. As well do you sell that ram air kit I seen on your 2nd gen swap video?
You can find a great Banks Monster-Ram Intake HERE, and tune packages are available over HERE.
?
Can I buy the bracket separately?
Unfortunately, we don't sell the bracket separately.
Other than the tuner, is there anything else that is needed to remove the egr?
Once you've tuned the truck you can install this delete and never have to worry about it again.
?
If I install the egr , coolant delete do I need a tuner ???? But I got the def delete with 4 tune do I still need it for the egr
A tuner is necessary to ensure the engine's ECU is properly programmed to handle the EGR delete. Confirm your existing tunes include EGR delete support or obtain new ones tailored to your setup.
Does this kit have provision for mounting the trans dipstick?
Yes!
?
Does the kit have the throttle valve delete and or do you guys offer it?
The Throttle Valve Delete is sold separately and can be found Here
?
Only this kit and a tuner are required for the full egr delete How long does it take to install average
This is a pretty painless one. Our in house technicians can get it done in a few hours. I'd recommend giving yourself 5-8 hours just so you're not rushing!
?
I have an Edge Juice With Attitude system installed on my truck. How can I use your EGR delete kit and keep using my Edge system?
Edge does not support deletes. You will need custom tuning for the vehicle to run this.
?
What is the purpose of moving the coolant flow to the rear cylinder instead of 5 where it originally was? Just curious as I’ve already had your kit installed for months but I see all my Buddy’s sinister and Chinese kits have no moved that coolant fitting like yours did Thanks
The purpose of moving the coolant flow is to provide better cooling action to the rear cylinders. It's an easy improvement, so we incorporate it into our kits!
?
Will this kit fit on a 2020 6.7 Cummins HO?
Yes, this kit fits 2009-2020 Cummins.

The install was straight forward, went fairly easy. The power after the tune is awesome... as you can see I also did the BANKS Monster Horn... Incredible difference!!! Definitely going to recommend to all my RAM-BROS
Really nice kit. I really like DDC coolant hose barb retaining bracket compared to some other kits I've used in the past. 19+ trucks have a welded barb on top of the coolant pipe that you can't turn like older trucks to make room for the exhaust back pressure gauge to bolt onto the bracket. So mines currently just free floating.
Easy enough to follow the instructions. I did, however, hop around in the order since I removed the EGR cooler before the EGR cooler valve to make it way easier to get the cooler valve nuts off. Also, very happy they made the effort to mention moving the coolant outlet to the back.
Great kit, has everything that you need. My truck was deleted for years but egr cooler was still in it. This cleaned up all the mess under the hood. Very straight forward instructions. Some bolts on a 300KM truck were a bit challenging. 7 hr start to finish with a few breaks.
Product looks great, haven’t had a chance to install it yet, waiting on intake horn.
Was disappointed with how it was handled during shipping. Paint was chipped off, not a huge deal but maybe it could have been prevented with better packaging.
worked well compared to the cheap chinese kit. Makes more sense and easy to follow instructions. My sensor was in a different placement so I had to weld a piece on to the bracket to hold the sensor properly but over all happy with the fitment and fast service and delivery
Love the dirty block off plates on the banks ram air! Color matches perfect. Exhaust shield slightly off color red but still looks awesome to cover up rusty exhaust manifold!! Night and day with the egr gone.
I had a mechanic shop install the EGR Delete and Banks Ram Air Intake. It looks great, I was concerned that the red paint wouldn’t match between the Banks products and Dirty Diesel, but it is perfect. I love the look. Haven’t had a chance to check the performance, or fuel savings yet but so far I am super impressed and would highly recommend Dirty Diesel for any of their products. Fast delivery, follow up emails on my satisfaction, they are my go-to for any future purchases for my Ram!!
The parts are top quality. Very detailed instructions that are printed in color. Very simple step by step install. The hardest part was pushing the coolant hose down onto fitting in the rear of the engine.
This kit is great quality, easy to install especially with the step by step guide. This is the fourth or fifth kit/item that I have purchased from Dirty! They never disappoint! I recommend them to anyone looking for parts for their trucks!
Took about 2 hrs but i changed the CCV out and took the stock in take out as well. Didn’t have to drain the coolant to do this. I like the fit and finish of this kit.
Fantastic fit and finish, rear plate being pre drilled for pyro made that a breeze. It is really nice when you get a kit with all the parts required!
Instructions were fantastic and easy to follow.
Slight adjustment to get the back presure sensor to sit and not rub on anything.
Opens up motor bay, really takes the trash out if you ask me. Too bad it didn't clean up the gravel dust though 😞, all in all it's a fun work truck now.
Digging the ddc egr delete on my 20 ram 3500 super easy install bout 2.5 hrs maybe this is my 4th order through ddc and so far been pleased with the service and products over the last year
All the parts fit perfectly. Very Good quality parts. But the coolant hose need to improve design. Need one more angle to make straight fit. Rear coolant hose. other than that every thing works grate
I’m mechanically inclined but never done an egr delete before, the instructions were nice to go back to to make sure everything was done properly. Clear as day English instructions and big colored pictures with important things circled. Also every last bolt, gasket, hose clamp ect needed was included in the kit. 10/10
