The Exergy E05 10505 Fuel System Saver is a revolutionary Inlet Metering Valve designed to protect your fuel system in case of a CP4 Pump Failure. Without this fuel-saving device, metal contaminants could be pushed through your system, damaging your injectors and sensors. This little lifesaver could save you a fortune!

The Differently-Designed System Saver Inlet Valve by Exergy has improved the screen that is upstream of the valve inlet. The OEM screen is a flimsy single 80-micron layer and prone to tearing not to mention it will then introduce a massive amount of debris from the failed pump into the injectors. The System Saver is double-wrapped in two layers and is rated at 25 microns, effectively preventing debris from entering the fuel system.

  • Does this also protect the return line that goes back to the tank?

    Yes, it's designed to protect the whole system in case of CP4 failure, read more -> HERE.

  • Would it it still fit and serve purpose if your cp4 was dcr swapped instead?

    No, if you've swapped to DCR this is no longer necessary.

  • With the screens being so fine....& dual wrapped....have there been any issues reported with "GELLING UP" during very cold temps?

    No, these are designed to enhance and not hinder fuel flow durability compared to the stock unit.

  • Will this fit a 2021 F250? Thanks

    No.

  • Is the Powerstroke Fuel System Saver (E05 10505) used in conjunction with the S&S CP4 bypass disaster kit? Is one better than the other and do you suggest running both?

    They are not used in conjunction, it's generally one or the other depending on your goal. You could run both but really it's redundant. The Fuel System Saver (E05 10505) is a very cost effective way to save your system.

  • Does this fit a 2012 passat cp4 pump?

    Unfortunately it is just for the Duramax or Powerstroke platforms.

  • I have one 2014 duramax and three f 250 6.7’s. I’d there anything I need to buy different or are they universal ?

    They're universal.

Install went aok. I am handy, but in no way a mechanic. Took me 2hrs to install Fuel System Saver. Process involved removing serpentine belt, disconnecting 2 electrical plugs on compressor, then compressor and setting on top of engine. AC lines remained connected during this time. You will need a very thin extension for torx as it is very narrow for access. Some lube sprayed on screws ahead of time also helped. Upon removal of stock unit I noticed some rubber and metal bits of debris in screens. Although it was not plugged, the screens were misshapen and not well built. Very happy FSS now installed. On a side note, I was quoted 4 or 5hrs by Dirty Diesel to complete this job. This is not a ‘dis’ in any way and more of a curiosity. 2x additional labor for a ticketed mechanic to complete over my humble skills? Big thank you to Dirty Diesel for carrying this item.

Peace of mind for glitter pump(cp4). Had nothing on stock screen after 230,000 klicks. Which was a relief. Install was easy.Clean-so you can eat off it and take your time.With this product and fass lift pump I can sleep better now. Recommend

2011-2019 Duramax & Powerstroke Fuel System Saver (E05 10505)

So far DD has been good to deal with. I cannot comment on the exergy fuel valve as I am holidaying in Ontario. Was hoping to have the transmission pan by the time I get home later in the month. I have a couple pictures of the rear differential cover I would like to send to you that has a blemish in the o- ring groove from the tool I believe that cuts the groove. I don’t think it’s bad enough to leak as it’s at the top of the cover. I guess we’ll see when Everything is installed and will comment then.

2011-2019 Duramax & Powerstroke Fuel System Saver (E05 10505)

Arrived at my door before it said shipped! Took me about 30 min start to finish. You would probably struggle using basic tools but can be done with the right finnese. This and a lift pump is all you need need to get all your money out of that CP4. And then when it goes your fuel system is covered. They CP3 swap and keep rollin pal. $300 vs. $8k-10k. Is that even a question?

Install is pretty straight forward, hardest part is taking the belt off and putting it back on. Fortunately I didn’t see any metal shavings in the OEM screen on the CP4. Should have done it long ago while I save for a CP3

Very easy install. Hang the ac compressor out of the way. 2 T25 bolts pull the regulator out unplug. Install. Good insurance. Stops the Cp4 pump from taking out the entire fuel system out. leaving the metal in the pump. Replace Cp4 and off you go... well worth it...
