    Questions and Answers

Don't see your question? Ask us anything about this product.

    • Can you increase line pressure to 225 to accommodate a Randy's transmission that says it must have 225 lbs after 30 percent throttle. Thanks

Yes! Randy's Transmission recommends our tunes because they are able to meet there requirements.

    • Can the custom tunes be used on a race me ultra tuner

      No.

    • Does this come with trans tuning for a 68rfe?

No, TCM tuning is available as an add-on HERE. These are delete tunes for emissions off trucks.

    • Trying to get new tunes for my mm3 device I have upgraded turbo and fuel and trans. Below all of that it says please attach stock read file what is that? And how do I obtain that?

A stock read is just a copy of the original factory software stored on the ECM. We need that to make sure we have the right base file starting point to get you the correct tunes! Check this page out HERE, for detailed instructions on how to pull a stock file!

    • Will this work on a RaceMe tuner

No, the tune files are not directly compatible with a RaceMe Tuner, they're specifically for the MM3 platform.

    • if I order all tunes does that mean I can re-tune as needed with no additional charges? and how many tunes does this give me?

If you order all tunes you will receive multiple tune levels (Stock, Tow, Street, Performance, Race). Once purchased you can reflash your track as needed without additional charges. Custom revisions would need to be purchased at an additional cost.

    • Can you write this for a 2014 Ram 5500 C&C?

      Absolutely!

    • If I already have a mm3 installed on the truck and it was done by a different company. Can I buy the file tunes and just install them into that. Would that work?

You'll need to supply us with a stock read file of the truck, and then we can write the tune files for you.

    • What are the HP/TQ for each stage on the tune? And would I be able to use this tune if I modify my truck?

      Level 1 (Tow): ~45 HP / ~100-150 TQ. Level 2 (Daily): ~75 HP / ~200-250 TQ. Level 3 (Performance): ~90-120 HP / ~300-350 TQ. Level 4 (Race/Hot Street): ~120-150 HP / ~400-500 TQ. Level 5 (Max) ~160HP+ / ~500+ TQ.

    • I have a 2016 ram 2500 with mm3 and have I am in the process of upgrading fuel system, installing 2nd gen turbo (non vgt) 67mm with 1/1 AR arp studs upgraded torque converter and valve body, intake, bd air diverter, and boost controller could I use the mm3 or do I need to purchase another tuner I’m looking for max hp and torque trying to reach 650-700 at the wheels would also like a economy tune also can you help with this if so please let me know what I need to order thanks

The MM3 would do the trick, if you've already got the tuner you'd just need the custom tunes written to the specs you're after. If you select all tunes you'd be able to specify having an economy tune written as well as a tune that will give you max hp and torque. You could consider adding a SOTF as well to seamlessly switch between the tunes.

    • Can you modify my existing mm3 tune to accomodate the non vgt turbo change I have made?

Yes, your existing tune can be modified to accomodate a non-VGT turbo./

    • I currently have an MM3 tuner. I am in the process of adding modifications. You can provide tunes based on the modifications correct. Will the files be RTG files and function like the existing files. Also can you custom tune based on dialing back injectors. I am buying Dynamite Diesel injectors 60 over they said the tuner can dial them back to 40 overs because down the road I will add a bigger injection pump.

Yes we can! As long as we have the list of all the mods and what you're wanting from the tunes, we'll make it happen.

    • Does the !20HP Race tune put my stock head gaskets and studs at risk?

Without the proper supporting modifications you're risking it for sure.

    • looking to pass emissions what tune do i need

To pass emissions, you need a stock or emissions-compliant tune, but if your truck is deleted, you will need to restore emissions components first.

    • Can you enable high idle features in the tunes for a 2013 ram cummins

Yes, high idle can be added to the MM3 custom tune.

    • So I have a 2012 6.7 Cummins and going to be putting a non vgt turbo on it. Will I need to get a custom tune or will it work with the vgt tunes

Yes, you would need a tune or the truck will have warning lights surrounding VGT issues.

    • Can I add lope and whistle tunes to my already tuned 2014 Cummins

No, you'd have to get a new tune file as the idle is written into the base of the tune.

    • Do I need a SOTF with the mm3?

If you want to switch between different power levels while driving, yes.

    • Hi I have a mm3 tuner with a drd custom files on but I ceep on getting service exhaust see dealer codes will you be able to correct this if I send you a log file or something or cannyou direct me to somebody whom can donit for me. I bought a few parts drom you guys but not the mm3 tuner

The "Service Exhaust" message typically indicates an issue with the tune or emissions system. Checking for DTCs, reloading the tune, and logging data can help resolve the problem. If needed, contact us at tunes@dirtydieselcustoms.com and we can help you troubleshoot!

    • I have an MM3 installed in my 2015 6.7 and am wondering what information is required to be able to get custom tune files?

      We require the following:

      1) VIN #

      2) Tune Level selection (if purchasing a single tune)

      3) Any modifications your truck may have (EGR delete, bigger turbo, Injectors etc). The tunes will be written according to what is inputted in the "*MODS" script box, so the more information the better.

      4) Tire Size

      5) Stock read file.

    • Can these custom tunes be used on a RaceMe Ultra? After more modifications are made?

      Yes.

    • I want to get idle sounds on my mm3 what do I need to do?

To get idle sounds on your MM3, you'll need to request a custom tune that includes sound modifications from your tuner. This typically involves adding a "sound tune" or exhaust tone adjustments within the custom tune file.

    • Already have MM3 tune from you guys but now wanting transmission tuning. Do I have to pay the full $650?

    • What does the Transmission tuning do?

TCM Tuning increases the line pressure, this puts more pressure on your clutch packs and prevents them from slipping which can cause excessive early wear on 68RFE's clutch disks. It will also change the shifting points to match the new tuning which helps improve the overall driveability.

    • Hi. I was wondering if these custom tunes will work with a 2019 ram?

You bet! These will work on any Ram with the 6.7L Cummins.

    • My truck is heavily modified, will this tuning work?

Yes, we can have these tunes written to accommodate any modifications that your truck may have. We just ask that you state any modifications in the "*MODS" script box. We will have the tunes written according to what is in this box, so the more information, the better!
