Cold Climate Idle

Optional

Cold Climate Idle raises the idle RPM (between 1150-1200RPM) on engine start up to reach operating temperature (approx 70C/158F) quicker in cold climates. This feature works when vehicle is in Park and on initial engine start. If vehicle is moved out of Park, the feature will turn off.

Glow Plug Extension

Optional

Increases glow plug strength and duration if it's cold enough. Improves cold starting performance (reduced chance of startup smoke and reduced engine stumbling).

Hardcut Rev Limiter

Optional

This tune option is for people who want an aggressive Rev Limiter either in neutral or at the top of the rev range in Drive or Sport for DSG's and any gear for manuals while driving. It is mechanically hard on the vehicle and can be set to any custom RPM you prefer - We do not recommend exceeding 4600RPM - *We do not offer refunds for this tuning feature!*

Dynamic EGR

Optional

Dynamic EGR keeps EGR operating stock like until the engine reaches "warmed up" temperature, usually about 60deg C. Then it closes so there is no EGR flow. All EGR hardware must be functional to use this feature. This feature is ideal for customers who want the advantages of the EGR system while prolonging component life. Incompatible with Emissions-Off.

Touareg, Q7 and Cayenne (Aisin 8-speed): TuneZilla requires transmission tuning for Stage 3; choose Aisin Stage 1 or Aisin Custom. A6, A7, A8 and Q5 (ZF 8-speed): choose the ZF8 transmission tune.

Notes

It is important to note that we do not remove or modify factory readiness monitors or force readiness for any factory-installed components. If you are installing aftermarket hardware that is for off-road use only, please double-check with your state requirements prior to flashing.

Installation
  • Flashed at home through the OBD port with the TuneZilla FlashZilla Pro and a Windows 10 or 11 laptop running the TuneZilla Portal App.
  • Connect the FlashZilla Pro with a USB-A to USB-C cable. USB-C to USB-C cables are not compatible.
  • Your tune is linked to your VIN and syncs to the TuneZilla Portal App, usually right away. Read and save your factory ECU file before flashing.
  • Clear all fault codes and warning messages before flashing.
  • TuneZilla recommends a battery charger for every flash. Turn the ignition on with the engine off, follow the prompts and do not interrupt the flash.

Radiator fan: the radiator fan can run during flashing and drain the battery. TuneZilla recommends a battery charger or unplugging the two radiator fan control unit fuses while flashing.

TuneZilla has partnered with Malone Tuning to develop tried and tested hardware upgrade combinations to deliver reliable tune files for the 3.0 TDI CPNB and CNRB engine. If you are simply looking to do a simple turbo upgrade to replace a worn turbo, or want to maximize your power potential, we have a tune file for you.

Our Stage 3 tune for the Garrett 2260VK turbo upgrade increases peak torque substantially while utilizing most of the factory fuelling system. As these turbos were a factory equipped in ROW models, the only required hardware upgrade is a 4 bar MAP sensor .Our tune files have been tested to produce the most power without unnecessary upgrades.
