Don't forget to service your GM vehicle's Allison 1000 or Allison 2000 transmission with the correct OEM replacement, the Allison Spin-On Filter. To keep your transmission in tip-top shape, it is recommended to change this filter every 12,000 miles. Be sure not to discard the filter magnet that's sandwiched between the filter and transmission - it might stick to the filter and get thrown away by accident. If that happens, no worries - we have replacement Allison filter magnets available for purchase.

FAQ

What is the recommended replacement interval for the spin-on Allison filter?

It's recommended to replace the spin-on filter on your Allison transmission every 12,000 miles for the best transmission health and longevity.

I accidentally threw away my filter magnet. Do you sell them separately?

Don't worry, it is a common mistake, and we have the magnets available click here to see the listing.

My transmission did not have a magnet when I removed the spin-on filter. Do I need one?

Yes. All Allison 1000 and Allison 2000 transmissions were originally equipped with a magnet between the spin-on filter and the transmission from the factory. Even seasoned mechanics sometimes slip and discard the magnet with the filter. If your transmission is missing the filter magnet replace it with a new one.
