Updating tuning on your EcoDiesel can be intimidating if you aren't familiar with the device, but don't worry! We're here to help, which is why we have created this step-by-step process on how to update your EcoDiesel ECM with the HP Tuners MPVI Device.
 

Step 1:

  • Download the latest version of VCM Editor BETA on a Windows based laptop
  • Note: The BETA version is updated nearly every day. Re-download the latest update each time you flash
  • Click here to download the VCM Editor BETA
  • If you encounter an error message that says “You require DOT NET Dependencies”, install this program

Step 2:

  • Hook up the MPVI device to the OBDII port of the truck and the USB port of the laptop.

Step 3:

  • Open the VCM Editor BETA, select Read Vehicle then “Read Entire” of the ECM, “Do Not Read” of the TCM, then “Read”.
  • Once complete, save the file as “patch_ecm”.

Step 4:

  • Select “Write Vehicle”
  • WRITE the “patch_ecm” back onto the ECM only

Step 5:

  • Take a second “read entire” of the ECM
  • Save the file as “stock_ecm”

Step 6:

  • This file will be the updated stock read. Send it to tunes@dirtydieselcustoms.com along with your order number for reference.
