Red VS Blue Oil

You might be wondering what the difference is, and summed up, there is no difference besides the color! They will both perform the same. 

The color was added to the oil for looks, and so you could make sure that the oil has migrated to all areas of the filter when cleaning and re-oiling your filter. You can purchase the Precision Cleaning & Oiling Kit in either color and achieve the same great results.

Installation

STEP 1

Remove and Clean

  • Clean sealing area of filter and filter housing with a clean soft rag.
  • Tap the filter on a hard surface to remove and loosen large particles and debris. (A soft brush may be used to loosen large particles of debris or bugs.)
  • Use S&B’s Filter Cleaner to clean the filter.
  • Gently rinse out the cleaner using low-pressure water.
  • Let filter dry for at least 24 hours.

STEP 2

Fill & Apply

  • Fill applicator with exact amount of oil required for your filter.
  • Starting 1/2 way from base make 2-3 passes around the circumference of the filter in the same area.
  • Repeat this process evenly spacing out the passes.

STEP 3

Inpect and Install

  • Allow oil to bleed for 20-30 minutes.
  • Inspect the filter for any white areas the oil did not cover.
  • With the remaining oil in the applicator apply a small amount of oil to those white areas.
  • DO NOT over-oil your filter.

    The only difference is the colour, both kits will perform exactly the same.

Previously used a K&N red oil kit when I was in a pinch, definitely super easy to over oil the oiled filter. Worth the extra bit of money to go with the S&B kit. Wouldn’t mind seeing it a little cheaper for what it is though from S&B.
