What Size Drop Hitch Do I Need? | Drop Hitch Stabilizer Bars

The Gen-Y BOSS 16K Torsion-Flex Drop Hitch is the ultimate solution for contractors, fleet owners, and serious towers who demand maximum control. By integrating Torsion-Flex technology, this hitch eliminates up to 90% of the shock and inertia transfer between your truck and trailer. This "glide" effect not only protects your cargo and livestock but also reduces metal fatigue and improves fuel economy.

With 4 to 6 adjustable positions, the BOSS 16K provides the precision needed to level any trailer in your fleet. Optimized for tongue weights between 1,000 and 1,700 lbs, it ensures your truck and trailer track independently. This results in vastly improved braking control and a massive reduction in trailer sway, keeping you in command through potholes, curves, and sudden stops.

  • Tow capacity is limited by the lowest rated component.
  • Average break-in period for hitch = 500 miles.
  • If you are towing with a pintle ring trailer, use a 2 ⁵⁄₁₆" ball, NOT a 2" ball when towing.

Safety

With Rubber Torsion Hitches, only 10% of the trailer inertia transfers compared to 100% using a hard connection hitch, giving you the ultimate control. Bumps, potholes, expansion joints, curves, hills, and other drivers can be a hazard, the Gen-Y Torsion Hitch helps keeps you under control when confronted with these conditions.

When you run a torsion style hitch, the tow vehicle and trailer track independently giving you greater control and added safety by reducing sway and trailer bounce. Also, their hitch will help increase braking control as all the weight is evenly distributed between your truck and your load. This will increase your positive contact when braking and maneuvering.
