Banks Ram-Air Intakes start out as CAD software prototypes and are put through flow simulations and the design is refined until the simulation shows optimal performance. Then a hardware prototype is made and the design is validated on a flowbench, then dyno testing and on-vehicle testing. Banks 42279 cold-air intake with enclosed housing, huge inlet, and dome-shaped filter improves flow up to 51%, increases power and fuel economy, reduces exhaust gas temps (EGT) and sooty, black smoke. The stock design is wide-open to hot underhood engine air, and hot air robs your Dodge Ram of power. Banks Ram-Air houses a giant lifetime filter in an enclosed cold-air box, which inhales up to 51% more cool, dense outside air than stock for more power and mileage, lower EGTs and less smoke pluming from your 6.7L Cummins. So easy to install and the online video was a cake walk to follow if you had any concerns about the steps or procedures on installation. Highly recommended. This company shipped my purchase out quickly and it arrived in a couple days. Great communication and support.
Feels like cheap cheap plastic and not at all a tight fit. Lots of movement and the filter placement in the air box is very loose, slopping around.
I was not happy with the way the grommet holes in the main housing were drilled. They were extremely rough. two of the grommets would fall out when the box was being installed. I spent 45 minutes looking for one grommet that fell into my engine compartment. The holes were oblonged. The rest of the kit was great.The holes looked like they were hacked out rather than drilled with a nice, sharp, bit. It was disappointing especially after waiting for three months for the delivery. As for the rear diff cover I purchased, it fit like a glove. It gets five stars!
Install was quick, fit and finish on the intake is superb looks like it should’ve been in there from factory highly recommend the product !
Super easy to install and the directions were very easy to follow. It took about 30 mins start to finish and I am carpenter not a mechanic and was still able to get it done. I haven't been driving my truck much since I installed it with the current price of diesel, but it sounds good and hopefully improves the fuel economy.
Easy install, took 30 min. The turbo sounds so much better spooling up or when running the exhaust brake. Put the filter screen cover also over it to catch large debris so it doesn't clog the filter as easily.
Replacement of OEM airbox was simple. Love the fact that I can hear the turbo and exhaust brake so much easier now.
Very easy to install the instructions are straight forward ! Feels much better for throttle response and low end power is much more noticeable really wakes it up . 2-4 psi you can start to hear the turbo whistle every time you put peddle to floor you always get 35 psi boost ! So far working good very happy well worth it

That is a very big ass intake. A little bit tricky to install cause of the room but would recommend
Sounds amazing, looks amazing, not only the turbo noise but the exhaust brake is unreal in the cab sounds so good. No codes on install, didn’t unplug battery either. Will update review in the future should any issues arrive. 2024/04/10 UPDATE: I have had two MILs come on with P0402 codes. Both when accelerating under load, only two though since I installed it back when I originally posted this. I can only assume it’s related to the intake. Truck: Stock 2022 Ram 6.7L Cummins not deleted. Further update: Constant MIL now pretty much, if cleared always comes back under light acceleration.. “EGR EXCESSIVE FLOW “A”” is the code I get. I just deal with it because it will be deleted eventually then that code shouldn’t be a thing anymore hopefully.
The banks Ram Air intake was easy to install and fits with all factory components.
The part fits well everything is included in the kit nothing gets over looked by banks and it looks like it’s supposed to be there from the factory !
Fit and finish is nice.. Did what the instructions said and I had a check engine light after the first 300km. Removed the kit and now it sits on my shelf.. Not impressed and I do not recommend the kit!

Incredibly quick and easy install. Even if this has no performance enhancing characteristics, the sound amplification is well worth the price. 10/10 would recommend.
Looks amazing and definitely makes the truck breath better plus the little extra turbo noise is always a plus.
Very well made unit with an extra large filter to scoop up the air from the Ram system. Would highly recommend as install was super easy.
