It concerned me, that my lawn mower had a larger oil filter than my 3.0l Duramax. With the premise that GM is more concerned with profitability, than engine longevity; I searched for an alternative. The PPE filter is nearly twice the size of the GM filter, it has 3x the filtration and includes a magnet. By all accounts the PPE filter should be superior to the GM.
As for Dirty Diesel Customs, It was easy to place my order on their website. They contacted me immediately, to let me know they had filters for my 3.0l Duramax however, the filters for 6.6l Duramax would not arrive for several weeks. The responsiveness of their staff and their eagerness to fulfill my order correctly, was impressive. I will certainly continue ordering parts from Dirty Diesel Customs.
The top of the filter came all scuffed up and the rubber seal gasket had scuffs on it as well. I still installed it since i was already in the middle of the oil change and needed the truck for a trip the next day. The next day I saw the filter leaking oil, so went back to AC Delco once I got home from my trip.
I never got to product i had reached out to adjust the shipping address but never heard anything back and the package was delivered to the wrong address
