Description

The S&S Diesel Motorsport Gen2.1 Disaster Prevention Kit is the ultimate safeguard for your 6.7L Power Stroke. This "Full Kit" is designed for trucks currently running the factory setup. It works by supplying the CP4 pump case and the metering unit/plungers independently with clean, filtered fuel. In the event of a CP4 pump failure, this kit reroutes contaminated case fuel through a secondary filter before it can reach your injectors, rails, or fuel tank.

Additional Info

The main task of this kit is to supply the CP4 case and the metering unit/plungers independently with clean, filtered fuel, and to reroute case fuel back to the tank. There are two major improvements in how the Gen2.1 kit accomplishes this. The Gen2.1 fuel supply is split off into two separate lines 25 inches from the CP4, which will eliminate the chance of contaminated case fuel back-feeding into the clean fuel supply line. The original bypass kit splits off within an inch of the pump and is more susceptible to debris back-feeding if the CP4 failure produces enough debris to clog the fuel return system.

The other improvement is what happens to the debris when it exits the pump case. The Gen2.1 kit features a billet return filter head that accepts a readily available Donaldson Spin-On Fuel Filter (#P550943) that will prevent debris from reaching the tank, fuel lines, and supply pump. Previously, unfortunate victims of a CP4 failure, with the good fortune of having an original bypass kit installed, would still need to drop the tank and deal with all of the debris created by the failed CP4.

S&S youtube video is helpful. Installed in my driveway in about 10 hours split into a couple days on my 2019 Powerstroke, medium difficulty for a self proclaimed seasoned backyard mechanic. Nice to have piece of mind and see for myself the condition of my CP4 pump. Great OEM grade fit. I recommend if you're awake at night worried about your pump.

The first photo is the new S&S diesel, disaster prevention kit, it went on very easily. Everything fit and works good and the hoses and fittings are all excellent quality. The second photo is one of the cheap Chinese brands that I thought I would try to save some money and every clamp had failed and I had to do multiple roadside repairs. One of the fittings wasn’t even correct and I had to cut one of the factory fuel lines and Rob the fitting, the brass T is so cheap and thin that it was leaking fuel through the sides. All of the S&S stuff is made from billet aluminum. And the hose actually has a pressure rating. I should have just spent the money the first time and been done with it.

Awesome kit! Installed it and the truck wouldn't start anymore!!! But now my injectors and rails are protected against any future CP4 failures. Ended up having to replace the CP4 pump after install, but seems to be a issue when installing the bypass kits. ( higher mileage truck) dealing the dirty diesel was awesome. These guys know their shit. #CP4life. #partyon

This is a great kit with great install instructions. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because they tell you you’re probably going to break a clip on your cowl while removing it but don’t send a new one in the kit. For the price might as well throw in the clips for a guy. Other than that everything is top quality and fits great!

Now i don't haft to worry about a overly expensive fuel system bill. expect half a day to install ,the intake plenum can be a bear to remove as well as the fuel filter housing bolts , a electric ratchet is a must ! or suffer lol some of the fuel lines touch each other and make contact on the coolant bottle but a lil insulation does the trick. great product. ps would be nice if dirty got the replacement filter on there website 👊

It took me a long time to actually open the box and start the install. But once I started, it took me about 4.5 hours to get it all together, didn't cut anything, didn't have to break anything. I'm more of a picture kind of guy, the pictures in the instructions was the goat, a little bit of reading to help the hard parts. A few times I got confused about the 2017 and 2020 parts, but once I realized those were not applicable to mine, I moved on. I ran the engine for awhile to get all the air out of the system and checked for leaks, so far so good. Everything is working great and sounds good too. Awesome product and I'm very grateful. 587000 kilometers and still going.

2011-2025 Powerstroke Gen2.1 CP4 Disaster Prevention Full Kit (CP4-6.7F-BP-G2.1)

The instructions are for a 2011+ up until 2019. I have a 2021 in which they refer on page 2 to a link on page 2 (non existant) to pull things apart. The truck is a work truck, so with incomplete instructions I can't/won't proceed until I can scope out the process. 2020+ instructions should be either included and or properly referenced. The instructions to start are something I would expect from Temu, not a north American company. I am sure this will work fine, parts look well done and finished properly. Since I need to waste a bunch of time figuring this out it will look pretty and do nothing to protect my truck on the shelf as I typically can't pull the work truck out of service for an undisclosed amount of time.
