S&B’s one-piece box design features an integrated box seal with a relocated filter minder location. S&B's oversized snorkel with lip engulfs more cold air. The cooler the air, the greater the density, resulting in better performance. Silicone is a premium rubber that will seal better and last longer. It handles as much as 400F without cracking or tearing. With a high friction surface and no oily residue, our silicone filters and couplers won’t slide off the tube. S&B added a silicone lid funnel to isolate the engine heat while tunneling more to your engine. The funnel attaches to the top of the air box and is easily interchangeable with our signature clear lid.

Do I need to run custom tuning to install this Intake Kit?
No custom tuning is required. S&B kits are designed to work with the stock system and you will not receive any CEL's (Check engine lights) during normal operation of the vehicle.

Cotton cleanable oil filter versus Dry extendable details would be appreciated. Pros/cons of each.
Cotton Cleanable, Pros: lifetime value, eliminates the need to buy replacement filters. Typically holds more dirt, allowing for longer intervals between cleanings. Excellent airflow. Cons: Requires cleaning kit, drying, and precise re-oiling, too much oil can contaminate the MAF sensor, and it can be messy.
Dry Extendable, Pros: Can be cleaned by blowing out with compressed air from the inside, no oil to mess up the MAF sensor, better in dusty conditions. Cons: not a true "lifetime" filter, eventually it will break down and require replacing. Needs to be serviced more often than oiled in heavy debris environments.
