This direct replacement, Duramax engine oil cooler assembly is the perfect fix for a failing or bad oil cooler. Designed to be an OEM spec replacement for LB7, LLY, LBZ & LMM engines, this assembly can have your Duramax truck performing at its best again.

Although the engine cooler rarely goes bad, it should still be replaced after a major failure. If there's been metal pushed through your engine, the oil cooler can get clogged. Since these coolers have a stack plate design, it's pretty tough to remove any metal debris.

FAQ

Symptoms Failing of Bad or Fialing Oil Cooler

The oil cooler on your Duramax is a vital component of your Duramax Diesel engine’s oil system. When these fail, they can cause catastrophic damage to your Duramax diesel, leaving you with a hefty repair bill. Replacing your failing or bad oil cooler should be done anytime you notice the following symptoms:

  • Oil Leaking From Cooler Area
  • Coolant Leaking From Cooler Area Oil Leaking Into Cooling System
  • Coolant Leaking Into The Oil System

While these symptoms can mean other problems with your Duramax, it is always a good idea to test the cooler and inspect the oil system for any signs of metal or coolant.

An easy way to test the oil cooler is to remove the oil filter and pressure test the cooling system. Any air escaping from the area on the area where the oil filter screws on is an indication of it leaking internally. This should be replaced.
