1989-2002 Cummins Rear Freeze Plug Retaining Plate w/o O-Ring (PDM-08208)
Description
Description
Solid billet retaining plate for the rear block freeze plug on 5.9L Cummins engines. Designed for trucks where the factory freeze plug has already started backing out under crankcase pressure — this plate bolts across the back of the block and physically prevents the stock plug from blowing out the rest of the way.
Unlike the O-ring version (PDM-08200), this plate doesn't seal against the bore — it relies on the existing factory freeze plug to retain coolant. The job of this plate is mechanical: keep the stock plug captured. Compatible with all Cummins B-series and 4BT industrial blocks. Use as a quick fix when pulling the engine to replace the plug isn't an option.
Features
Features
- Solid Billet Rear Block Freeze Plug Retainer
- Mechanical Retainer — Retains Existing Stock Plug
- Fits 5.9L 12V, 5.9L 24V, and 4BT Cummins
- Repair Fix When Pulling the Engine Isn't an Option
- Part Number: PDM-08208
Notes
Notes
- This plate does not seal the freeze plug opening on its own — it captures the existing OE freeze plug behind it. If the stock plug is gone or damaged, replace the plug before bolting this on, or use the O-ring sealing version (PDM-08200) as a complete sealing plug replacement.
- Best used as a preventative fix when the OE plug shows signs of backing out but hasn't blown.
