Fox 2.0 Shocks - Everything you should know

Fox 2.0 Shocks - Everything you should know

Josh Yanay |

Dirty is Canada’s largest dealer of FOX 2.0 shocks. We work directly with FOX as a distributor, which means faster access, better availability, and the right advice when you’re choosing the perfect setup for your truck, SUV, or 4x4.

Where To Buy

  • Gas/4x4 platforms: Shop FOX at Dirty Garage
  • Diesel platforms (Duramax, Cummins, Power Stroke): Shop FOX 2.0 at Dirty Diesel
  • Everything else: Prefer browsing by categories and lifestyle gear? We can get it for you through Dirty Offroad as well. Ask if you don’t see it listed.

Need help choosing? Message us with your year/make/model, tire size, and how you actually drive. We’ll spec the right FOX 2.0 setup and get it on the way.

Why FOX 2.0?

  • Noticeable comfort upgrade: FOX 2.0 shocks smooth out chatter, reduce body roll, and keep the truck planted without going “race stiff.”
  • Durable by design: Aluminum bodies resist corrosion and shed heat better than painted steel, so performance stays consistent on long drives and rough roads.
  • Real-world control: Tuned valving that’s comfortable on pavement and composed on gravel, job sites, logging roads, and light trails.
  • Huge catalog: From daily drivers to weekend builds, there’s a FOX 2.0 for most popular platforms, plus steering stabilizers and bump stops.

FOX 2.0 vs. Bilstein 5100 vs. King

  • FOX 2.0 vs. Bilstein 5100: Both are great “step-up” options. 5100s are known for firm, tidy control. FOX 2.0 typically rides a bit smoother and manages heat better thanks to the aluminum body. If you want daily comfort with weekend capability, FOX 2.0 usually wins.
  • FOX 2.0 vs. King: King targets higher-end, hard-use builds and serious tuning budgets. Amazing parts, higher price, more setup. FOX 2.0 delivers 80–90% of what most people want for a fraction of the cost and complexity.

Bottom line: If you want a dramatic, day-one improvement without going full race-spec, FOX 2.0 is the sweet spot.

Pick What Fits Your Use

  • Daily driver / work truck: Standard FOX 2.0 IFP (internal floating piston) shocks are perfect for comfort and control.
  • Heavier wheels/tires, mild lift, gravel: FOX 2.0 is still great; consider pairing with a FOX steering stabilizer if your front end feels nervous.
  • Trail-curious / towing: You can move up to reservoir options or matched coilovers when you want more cooling and control, but most folks start with 2.0s and love them.

Not sure what you need? Tell us how you use the truck, tire size, and any lift — we’ll spec it for you.

FAQ: Quick, Non-Technical Answers

Will FOX 2.0 make my truck ride better?
Yes. Expect less bounce, better control over bumps, and a calmer steering feel. It’s the easiest “big difference” upgrade most people feel right away.

Do I need a lift?
No. Many FOX 2.0 applications are stock-height friendly. If you are leveled/lifted, we’ll match the right part numbers so travel and ride height are correct.

How fast can I get them?
We’re a distributor — we can access any FOX part and get it to you quickly. If it exists, we can source it.
