The factory LBZ/LMM intercooler causes 2-3+ PSI of pressure drop, limiting the return on any turbo upgrade. PPE's bar-and-plate replacement virtually eliminates that pressure loss with a larger core and optimized fin density, and it installs on factory mounts with no cutting required.

Testing has shown that the factory GM intercooler causes a 2 to 3 (plus) psi pressure drop, so the boost from even the largest turbocharger can be choked if the intercooler is inefficient.
