  • Will this help get rid of loud turbo whistle? My truck sounds like a jet when I first start it up, I'm trying to quiet it down a bit.

    Yes, this will help tone down the overall volume and take the "rasp" out of your exhaust, but it may not completely eliminate a loud, high-pitched turbo whistle on cold starts.

  • If I buy the 4 inch straight pipe MBRP system, will this go in place of the straight pipe section without modification? If a guy wanted to swap out the straight pipe with a muffler before a road trip.

    Yes, the Quiet Tone Muffler is designed to be a direct swap for the standard MBRP muffler delete pipe found in their 4" straight pipe systems. You should be able to swap them for a road trip without cutting or welding.

  • Does this muffler have packing in the chamber? Or is it hollow beyond the louvers that stick up on the interior? Will it remain quiet forever, or will it pack with (trapped) soot over time, eventually turning it into a straight pipe?

    This Quiet Tone Muffler features a spiral louvered core design and does not contain traditional packing material. Sound performance remains consistent over time, unaffected by packing burnout. Soot buildup may reduce muffling efficiency.

This muffler is WAY quieter than you're probably expecting. Zero drone at highway speed, but an audible rumble during acceleration. Overall, this will take your straight piped honkytonk rig and turn it to a Cowboy Cadillac.

If anyone is hesitant in buying this or saving money, just get this! I went back and forth if I should or should not and finally bit the bullet on this and have no regrets. Had a straight 4" turbo back on a 2013 Cummins and it was getting to be a bit obnoxious towing a travel trailer, but this took the drone I knew and "loved" and threw it out the window! Stepping on it isn't necessarily quiet, but definitely not stupid loud by any means. And a great tone as well. Compares to a full MBRP exhaust, but less than half the cost! 10/10, would buy again.

Very easy to work with I really liked the muffler it had a od coupler on both sides making it easy to cut required pipe out and put the muffler in only needing two exhaust clamps or two band clamps. The exaust wasnt overly heavy it didn’t feel like I was putting additional stress on the exhaust

Easy install. And definitely cuts down on the noise from just having a straight pipe. Definitely recommend if ya want to quiet down your cummins a bit. I had a 4” straight pipe and installed this and it worked great.
