Description

The SunCoast billet flex plate replaces the factory flex plate on 2019 and newer Ram trucks with the 6.7L Cummins and a 68RFE or AS69RC automatic transmission. It is a must have alongside a better designed torque converter that can transfer the high torque of the Cummins with no slip.

The flex plate bolts to the crankshaft and the converter bolts to the flex plate, so engine torque passes from the flex plate to the converter and then to the transmission input shaft. With increased torque from the engine and no slip out of the converter, a stock flex plate can crack or rip its centre out.

SunCoast billet flex plates are CNC machined from a forging for strength, with reliefs machined between the converter mounting area and the crank flange so the plate can still flex. Extra thickness is added to prevent cracking, and the design meets or exceeds every SFI 29.3 requirement for materials, mechanical properties, design and rotational integrity.

Part Number: 68RFE/AS69-BFP-19

Features

  • Billet construction, CNC machined from a forging
  • Replaces the factory flex plate
  • Meets or exceeds SFI 29.3 specifications
  • Fits all 2019 and newer 68RFE and AS69RC equipped 6.7L Cummins trucks

Notes

  • An SFI certified flywheel flex plate is required on drag racing vehicles running 11.99 and quicker in the 1/4 mile and 7.49 and quicker in the 1/8 mile, or any vehicle exceeding 135 mph.
  • In 2008 the SFI specification for automatic transmission flex plates on diesel applications changed from 29.1 to 29.3. The 29.3 rules do not allow stamped metal, which many OEM and aftermarket flex plates are made from.
  • To maintain the SFI specification 29.3 requirements, the flex plate must be replaced every three years.
