The factory cooler bypass valve in the GM 8L90 8-speed automatic is a known weak point — debris can jam the internal valve in recirculation mode, starving the transmission cooler and causing fluid temps to climb. The BD Diesel Cooler Bypass Delete eliminates the bypass valve entirely, forcing 100% of transmission fluid through the external cooler at all times. A simple fix that removes a failure-prone component and keeps the 8L90 running at its lowest possible operating temperature.
