2003-2018 Cummins HX Series Coated Rod Bearings (Std) (PDM-CB-1873HXC)

Industrial Injection HX-Series coated Clevite rod bearings for the 5.9L and 6.7L Cummins. The HX-Series carries .001" extra clearance over the standard H-Series, providing additional oil flow for high-output builds. Like the H-Series, these were developed for NASCAR-type competition and built on a hardened steel back with a thin overlay. Standard size, sold as a complete set.

The dry-film coating is the reason most builders choose these. It sits between the bearing surface and the crank journal as a barrier against cold-start dry contact and oil-starvation events. The coating includes moly and other additives that retain oil instead of shedding it, so the bearing stays protected against the dry contact that would otherwise damage the journal on an unfiltered start.
