2001-2019 Duramax & Cummins AAM 11.5" 14-Bolt Heavy-Duty Cast Aluminum Rear Differential Cover (2380511X0)

Heat is what kills gear oil. Once differential fluid runs hot it stops protecting the ring and pinion and bearings, and in a limited-slip unit it breaks down the clutch packs and friction modifiers. PPE's cover is cast from heat-treated A356.0-T6 aluminum, adds 0.61 quart of fluid capacity, and uses 3/8 inch external cooling fins to pull heat out of the oil when you tow or haul.

Internal windage scrapers keep fluid moving over the gears without excess churning, which cuts heat buildup and parasitic loss. The scrapers and the vertical fins together form a cross-braced structure that spreads load and stands up to impacts. The fill plug sits at the factory fill height, and both plugs carry a high-temperature neodymium magnet to catch ferrous wear particles.
