When you pair these tools with an air hammer, they deliver the necessary hammering effect to loosen a stubborn glow plug. The flats on the bit provide the ability to use a wrench and apply the needed twisting force. Merchant Auto performs in-house machine work on the socket to ensure it won't harm Duramax glow plugs.

Using an impact wrench instead of this setup often leads to the glow plug twisting off rather than coming loose.
