1989-2002 Cummins Rear Freeze Plug Retaining Plate w/ O-Ring (PDM-08200)
Description
Description
Machined billet retaining plate that replaces the stock soft freeze plug at the rear of the 5.9L Cummins block. Stops the most common rear-of-block coolant leak on the platform — perfect for heater-core deletes, performance builds, or trucks where the factory plug has started weeping.
The plate seals with a high-temp Viton O-ring against a cleaned bore, no hammer or installer needed. Compatible with 6B 12V, 1998.5-2002 24V, and the industrial 4BT four-cylinder Cummins block. Use this plate as a preventative upgrade before the stock plug fails — if the factory plug has already blown out, you'll need the no-O-ring version that retains the existing plug in place.

Notes
Notes
- Clean the freeze plug bore thoroughly with a wire brush or emery cloth to remove rust and scale before install. Add a small chamfer to the bore edge so the O-ring doesn't get sliced going in.
- Lube both the O-ring and the bore with motor oil. Install by hand only — if it doesn't seat smoothly, stop and re-check the bore prep.
- If the stock freeze plug has already blown out, use the no-O-ring retaining plate (PDM-08208) instead.
