 Note: For all trucks including those with (OEM) 5th wheel hitches / Will not fit Chassis Cab models or vehicles with (aftermarket) Curt 5th wheel packages / Will not fit on vehicles where the distance from the bottom of the metal jounce cup to the top of the strike plate is greater than 7.5”/ ALPHA XD kits (-X / -X-J) are not compatible with Pacbrake’s 2” / 4” / 6” Air Spring Spacers.

Why did Pacbrake add a bump stop to their bags?

Peace of mind. Customers want a bump stop to prevent bottoming out from loss of air bag pressure, an extremely rare event that could damage the airbags or potentially the frame of the truck. Think of it as an "insurance policy" against bottoming out.

An additional benefit is that you can run these airbags at 0 psi when unloaded for superior ride comfort.

Are bump stops necessary?

No! For those that require max travel in their air bags, to raise and lower their rear end to pickup trailers or boats, or for those that take their trucks off-roading, air bags without bump stops are recommended. Consider the HP10585-X ALPHA XD air bag.
