The SPE Powerstroke Oil Pan is a cast aluminum pan that is designed as a direct factory replacement and features a vast amount of improvements & upgrades. Featuring a built-in o-ring, a machined pry provision slot for easy removal, and a sumped/tapered drain to allow for complete emptying of the oil. It also has a factory drain plug thread, so you can use whatever drain plug you prefer
An added provision for an optional heater upgrade should you be in a climate where freezing temperatures can create issues with oil viscosity and decreased oil circulation and lubricity.
This product does not include the Oil Drain Plug and requires a steel oil plan.

No, the SPE-S100180 oil pan does not include the heating element or the engine oil cap.

Will this work on my 2012? I have the factory plastic oil pan. Not sure what is ment when its saying needs to have retrofitted steel oil pan to work.
No, it will not bolt directly onto your truck because it doesn't accept thee early 2011-2012 factory plastic pan design. To make this work on your 2012 you need to upgrade to a steel pan and shorter, factory Ford bolts used on 2013+ trucks to mount this pan.
