This is an updated OEM-style shallow-pan internal fluid filter for the Duramax Allison 1000 transmission. It mounts inside the transmission pan and screens the fluid drawn up by the pump, so replacing it with every fluid service keeps clean oil flowing to the internal components for smooth, consistent shifts. The internal filter should be changed every 75,000 to 100,000 miles.

This is the shallow-pan version, sized for the standard factory pan (roughly 4 inches deep at the front and tapering to about 2.5 inches at the rear). Trucks fitted with a deeper aftermarket or heavy-duty pan use the taller deep-pan filter instead.
