Why should you get TCM Tuning on your 68RFE? Read about it here
The CCS TCM Tuning is for those looking to upgrade their tuning package from Coopers Custom Solutions by adding Transmission Tuning. The TCM Tuning will dramatically increase the drivability of your 68RFE by modifying and adjusting your shift points, line pressure, and increasing the holding capacity.
TCM Tuning increases the line pressure, this puts more pressure on your clutch packs and prevents them from slipping which can cause excessive early wear on 68RFE's clutch disks. It will also change the shifting points to match the new tuning which helps improve the overall driveability.
The factory lockup schedule on the 68RFE is set to lock up the torque converter in 4th gear, and Mitch Cooper (Owner of CCS Tuning) will command lockup in 3rd gear and it will stay locked while you are shifting from 3rd to 4th. The shifting patterns would almost be similar to when you drive in Tow Haul Mode.

Ask a Question-
If my trans has different build requirements than what is sold can that be modified?
I would recommend contacting the tuning department with the specs of your transmission before ordering, they can check with CCS to see if their files will work with your setup. You can reach them tunes@dirtydieselcustoms.com
-
If i get the trans tuning, is there a way to save the factory parameters with the autocal v3 in case I wanted to switch back to factory?
Your OE file will be saved in the device when you flash your custom tunes.
-
Are there any recommend modifications to do a stock 68rfe before tuning it such as valve body work.
You could definitely upgrade the valve body, but the trans tuning is built to work with stock transmissions.
-
Should there be any concern the increased line pressure is to high for a stock pump to handle?
The increased line pressure in the CCS tuning for the 68RFE is within the safe limits for a stock pump! The tuning is designed to optimize shift performance well within the safe parameters for the stock pump.
-
What psi does the line pressure raise to with the tune?
Typically it increases the line pressure to a maximum of 225 PSI, depending on the specific calibration and power level of the tune.
-
Can I use this tune with the BD Diesel Protect68 kit?
Yes.
-
Hi, my truck already has an efi live tune. Can I get only the tcm tune package?
