PPE recognized the need for better filtration for the hard-working 68RFE transmissions, so a superior filter was developed which addresses limitations of the standard "shorty filter".
Inside the PPE Spin-On Filter is 57% larger than the OEM filter. This increased surface area allows improved fluid flow and filtering. The PPE Double-Deep Filter actually traps particles down to 10 microns, which is half the size of what the standard spin-on filter catches. These improvements help create a cleaner flow of oil to vital internal components, resulting in smooth, more responsive shifts.
On top of that this filter upgrades the factory plastic threaded adapter to a steel adapter as well as a magnetic filter at the bottom to pull out any metal debris from the fluid.
