Description
Description
These Clevite rod bearings cover the 2003-2018 5.9L and 6.7L Cummins platform across three grades — Standard, H Series, and HX Series. All three share the same core construction: hardened steel back, thin overlay, enlarged chamfers for crankshaft fillet clearance, and coatings designed to prevent damage during cold starts when oil hasn't fully circulated yet. The differences are in eccentricity and clearance, which determine which grade matches your build.
The H Series has medium eccentricity and high crush — the workhorse bearing for street-performance and tow-rig rebuilds. The HX Series adds +.001" extra clearance, which is what most performance and high-mileage refresh builds want. The standard AP grade is for stock rebuild specs.
Industrial Injection developed the coated versions primarily for NASCAR-type racing, but they're suitable for all types of competition engines, sled pullers, and any rebuild where you want better cold-start protection and longer journal life.
